British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Fatal Road Accident
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople stated on late Wednesday. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash in the Lagos area on December 29th, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The boxer had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, his promoter had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.
“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the commissioner stated.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the passing of his two dear friends.”
His release from the hospital comes as the boxing community shared condolences for the champion in the wake of the heartbreaking incident.
