Top-ranked Sabalenka Claims Back-to-Back WTA Top Player Awards.
The top-ranked player Aryna Sabalenka has been voted the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second successive season.
The 27-year-old captured four tournament victories – the highest tally on the circuit – including successfully defending the US Open in September against Amanda Anisimova to claim her fourth Grand Slam singles triumph.
A Season of Consistency
Across the season, Sabalenka reached a circuit-leading nine finals, with losses coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.
The Belarusian also won the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open in May. She spent the whole season as the world number one, concluding 2025 atop the rankings for a second successive year.
This past summer, she achieved the status of being the first player to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams in 2015.
Record-Breaking Achievements
Sabalenka ended the season with a sixty-three to twelve match record, and collected a historic eleven million pounds in prize money.
She received almost 80% of the votes submitted by global tennis journalists.
Later this month, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match with the aim of "raise women's tennis to a greater prominence".

- Comeback Player of the Year: Switzerland's Belinda Bencic, 28, was voted after taking a 13-month break following the arrival of her first child and making her comeback to the sport at the start of this year.
- Fresh Face of the Year: Canadian teenager Victoria Mboko picked up the award after starting the season positioned beyond the world's top 300 and soaring to the eighteenth spot.
- Doubles Team of the Year: Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend were selected after capturing their second Grand Slam title as a pair.
- Most Improved Player of the Year: Amanda Anisimova was named after advancing to five finals.
Recently, Carlos Alcaraz won three honours in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Awards, which included the year-end number one award, while Jannik Sinner was chosen as the fan favorite for a third time.
